If you haven’t heard already, a brand-new Shelby GT500KR is on the way! Making its’ official debut on January 29th at the Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona, Vin #001 will be auctioned off for charity. The reason for such a wonderful creation, is to celebrate Shelby’s 60th Anniversary in 2022!
Shelby has previously created two other King of the Road-Edition Shelby GT500s: One version in 1968 and the other version in 2008/2009. This time around, Shelby will only be creating 225 units! 60 units from the 2020-year model GT500, 60 units from the 2021-year model GT500, 60 units from the 2022-year model GT500, and 45 units will be reserved for international market customers. Production is set to start sometime in the beginning of 2022. Now that we know the brand-new upcoming Shelby GT500KR is going to be exclusive, let’s go over further details!
To purchase a Shelby GT500KR direct from the dealer, an MSRP of $127,895 will be listed on the sticker. That of course, is without the dealer markup of probably anywhere from $25,000 – $100,000 we would estimate. If you already have a GT500 and want the King of the Road package, you’re looking at a $54,995 price tag. No matter which route you decide to go, feel confident you’re now an owner of an exclusive vehicle that is surely going to appreciate. We can’t wait for the unveiling, and we look forward to seeing these beasts on the road!
