The Mercedes-AMG GT3 “Edition 55” has been revealed to celebrate the 55th anniversary of AMG, a true example of excellent performance!
Mercedes-AMG will only produce 5 examples of the Edition 55 Mercedes-AMG GT3, each costing $620,000 before tax. There’s no question this will be a collector’s vehicle, as it relates to purpose and is made for a celebratory reason. While this AMG is celebratory, it’s not just a looker. It’s fast.
Mercedes-AMG did what they do best, and that’s make vehicles even better than they already are. Heck, they’ve been doing it for 55 years! Mercedes-AMG took the existing GT3 and made it Non-FIA Homologated, translating into no restrictions! You see to become FIA-compliant and compete in FIA-Approved races, there are rules and regulations. This being a non-FIA racecar, means there are no rules.
Mercedes-AMG have improved exhaust design and output, engine specs and power, aerodynamics, and weight reduction. The 6.3L V8 now cranks out 650 horsepower with an uncapped exhaust system, so it’s louder and faster than before! The side skirts, side and front louvers, aero flicks, end plates, radiator grill, front wing, and front + rear diffuser are now all made of Carbon to help with weight.
The inside comes with a further improved, Bosch-designed, display unit showing all necessary driving data whilst ripping around a track. The interior and exterior are filled with red, silver, and black accents for the “Edition 55” design. A silver seatbelt racing harness, special “Edition 55” badging inside and outside, and the Mercedes-AMG Affalterbach logo on the exterior give this Mercedes-AMG GT3 its uniqueness in design.
We’ve love to hear this thing dominate the corners; we can’t wait for some live action. We’d imagine all 5 units are already sold-out to Mercedes-AMG’s top customers, rightfully so!
