Ferrari has just unveiled a very special one-off vehicle that was commissioned by a single customer! Every now and then, we hear of Ferrari creating a single vehicle that is commissioned by one customer according to their liking. This is possible via Ferrari’s “Special Projects” division. Think of them like Ferrari’s “Tailor Made”, but even more exclusive and they only make 1 or 2 vehicle a year. Imagine how high up the Ferrari ladder you have to be in order to have Ferrari make you any car you want, literally. One of our personal favorite Ferrari Special Project cars is the P80/C.
The new hit Ferrari we’ll be talking about today, is called the Ferrari BR20. This special dedicated Ferrari customer has basically taken a Ferrari GTC4 Lusso and done two things; They’ve restyled the exterior/interior and torn out the rear seats. The new exterior styling, in our opinion, makes the BR20 looks like a longer 812 Superfast. Since the rear seats have been pulled and a new roofline has been created, buttresses influenced by the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano have been added to connect the new roofline to the rear of the car. Getting to the rear, the Ferrari BR20 does keep the same taillights from the GTC4 Lusso, but changes almost everything else. In the front, we see a brand new massively open “812-ish” style front bumper with a bit smaller headlights. In the rear, a new bumper with an added rear diffuser work with active aerodynamic flaps in the underbody while brand new dual exhaust tips are found on the left and right rear. Ferrari has mentioned how this particular client wanted their BR20 to be somewhat inspired by the Ferrari 410 SA and the Ferrari 500 Superfast, which are Ferraris’ from the 50’s and 60’s.
The interior has been done tastefully well with a sort of rustic-brown leather mixed with carbon fiber materials. As we mentioned previously about the rear seats being removed, a sort of deck or rear shelving has been selected for replacement. Brown can usually be an odd color choice, but this Ferrari client and the Ferrari Special Projects team have absolutely knocked it out of the park.
Powering the Ferrari BR20 is the same 6.3L N/A V12 within the GTC4 Lusso, meaning the BR20 produces 680 horsepower and 514 lb-ft torque. All Wheel Drive has been fitted to the BR20 instead of the optional Rear Wheel Drive. We are not certain of any pricing specifics, but we are well convinced of a very high dollar amount way above the standard GTC4 Lusso MSRP of just over $300,000. You see in order to get a custom vehicle made according to your liking from Ferrari and their Special Projects team, you’ve got to be a top-tier long time client of Ferrari. We’re talking someone that gets every new exclusive Ferrari that comes out and keeps them garaged, not selling them or flipping them for money. Truly, whomever this client is has serious brownie points with Ferrari. To conclude, we love the BR20 and the restyling of the exterior. The interior came out magnificent as well. To whomever the owner is, congratulations and we hope to see your car one day!
