C8 Corvette ZR1 Rumored to have 900hp! ( Chevrolet News )

The C8 Corvette has been shaking up automotive news ever since it premiered. The all new design, mid-engine, and price point have made the C8 Corvette quite a desirable vehicle and a solid choice for being a top-end contender. With every new Corvette that premiers, enthusiasts around the world await for something even more. The Z06 and ZR1 have always been a fan favorite and have proved massive success from a competitive standpoint. The high rumor going around for the brand new C8 Corvette involves specifically, the ZR1. As the automotive world is rapidly changing to electric and hybrid powertrains, the Corvette is also rumored to be joining in on the movement.

This very exciting rumor comes from Motortrend and involves the future C8 Corvette ZR1 being a hybrid! Motortrend reports coming from a Senior Executive at GM mention the C8 ZR1 will be equipped with the all-new engine within the Z06, which will be based on the N/A 5.5L V8 in the Corvette C8.R racecar. In addition to the V8, a rumored 1.94 kWh battery pack driving a single electric motor at the front of the car will assist in producing a total power output of 900 horsepower and 880 lb-ft torque! If by chance you aren’t convinced, electric assistance is the way of the future. Instant torque coming from the electric motor and battery pack combined with the insane power of a V8 make the upcoming ZR1 a force to be reckoned with. Though to highlight one of our main points, there is no official news from GM and these are just rumors.
